PSAT / NMSQT
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test that serves as both practice for the SAT and the entry point for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT/NMSQT evaluates a student’s skills in mathematics, reading, and writing, helping identify areas for improvement before taking the SAT. High scores on this test can also qualify students for recognition and scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).
At Certified Tutoring, we provide comprehensive PSAT preparation, including:
-
Mathematics: Problem-solving, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis
-
Reading: Comprehension, critical thinking, and analysis of complex texts
-
Verbal: Vocabulary, analogies, and sentence completion
-
Writing: Grammar, essay writing, and clarity of expression
-
Test-taking strategies: Time management, question prioritization, and stress reduction
Our experienced instructors help students maximize their scores and build confidence. Many of our students have achieved high scores, earning spots on the Semifinalist list, with some advancing to the Finalist list and receiving National Merit Scholarships.
